Even with the latest Windows versions, sharing files over a network is not as easy as we would want, especially if the files are on a USB drive. USB Network Gate gives you the possibility of sharing entire USB drives, over the Internet or a local network, with only a few clicks. If you connect to a shared device, you can explore its contents as if the drive was plugged into your own computer.

USB Network Gate's setup package is roughly 8 and a half MB and it takes about a minute to install the software on your computer. It is available for Windows, Mac and Linux, as well as Android powered mobile devices.

The user interface has a clean and efficient layout and its few options are well organized and easy to spot. You can share your own devices or connect to remote ones on different tabs. If a USB device is plugged into your computer, you just need to select it, on the user interface and click a button to share it. When you share a device, a small window will pop up, on which you can specify a TCP port, enable traffic encryption, password protect your device and type a short description.

Connecting to a shared device is just as easy. You may scan for USB devices on specific hosts. All you have to do is type or paste the host's name or IP address and click a button. Once you add one or more remote devices, you just need to select one and hit the connect button, located on a toolbar. If you establish a connection to a remote USB storage device, it will appear in Windows Explorer as an external device, as if it was plugged into your own computer.

The application provides support for a vast range of USB devices. Besides USB memory sticks, you can also share keyboards, mice, fingerprint readers, webcams, gamepads, Bluetooth adapters and many more. Connected devices are detected automatically. When you plug in a device, the application will display it on its interface, without the need to restart it or click a Refresh option.

Pros

You can share almost any USB device over the Internet or a local network. The application can detect your connected devices automatically and you can share them in just a few seconds.

Cons

You can share only one local USB device, while using the trial version. With USB Network Gate, you can make your USB devices available on any computer almost instantly.
